What we collect
When you reserve seats we collect the lead traveller's name, the names of the other travellers you type in, your phone number, email address, pickup area, hotel name and room number, the date and departure you chose, the number of adults and children, and anything you write in the message box.
When you send an enquiry we collect your name, phone number and, if you give them, your email address, preferred date and party size.
Why we need it
To confirm your reservation, to tell you your hotel pickup time, and so the driver can find you at the right hotel at the right time. That is the whole purpose.
What we never collect
No card or bank details, ever. This site takes no payment: you pay the operator in euros on the day of the tour, so no payment data passes through here.
Who sees it
Your booking is stored in the Atalay Tours reservation system and shared with the team operating your departure — the driver and the guides at the base. We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to advertisers.
Our legal basis
For a booking or an enquiry: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — we need the data to perform the contract you are entering into, and without it nobody can be collected from a hotel. For the server access logs: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating a site that stays up and is not abused.
Your data goes to Türkiye
The safaris run in Türkiye and so does the agency operating them, so your booking is transferred there and stored there. Türkiye is outside the EU and has no European Commission adequacy decision. The transfer rests on Article 49(1)(b) GDPR: it is necessary to perform the contract between you and us. There is no way to book this tour without it, which is why we say so here rather than in a footnote.
Health details, if you send them
The terms ask you to tell us in advance about pregnancy, a heart condition, back or neck trouble or recent surgery, and the message box is where that lands. That is health data under Article 9 GDPR: we process it only to judge whether you can take part safely, only because you chose to send it (Article 9(2)(a) — your explicit consent), and we delete it after the tour. If you would rather not type it, tell the guide at the base instead.
Analytics and server logs
This site runs no analytics script and sets no cookies. Our server keeps ordinary access logs — the page requested, the time, and the address and user agent of the browser asking for it — which is how any web server works and how we see that the site is up. There is no third-party tracker here and therefore no consent banner to click away.
Your rights
In full: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on our legitimate interest. Where we rely on your consent — the health details above — you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was lawful before. You may also complain to the data protection supervisory authority of the EU country where you live or work.
Write to us on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Reservation records are kept only as long as we need them for the season's accounts.
