Morning, late morning or afternoon: which departure should you book?

The safari is the same at 08:00, 11:00 and 13:00: one course, the same briefings and practice drive, the same 18 km off-road route, the same fare. What changes is the shape of your holiday day and the light you drive through. All three are departure times — the activity's scheduled start at the base — and your hotel pickup is earlier, confirmed with your booking.

The safari does not change with the clock

Nothing is held back from one departure for another. All three run on the same private off-road course inland from the Side coast — the same forest tracks and dirt roads, the same dust, mud and water-splash stops — and all three begin with registration, the three briefings and the practice drive.

The fare ignores the clock too: on the Quad Safari €25 per adult and €15 for a child aged 6–10 as a passenger, on the Buggy Safari €30 per adult, on the Family Buggy Safari €30 and €18. Helmet, round-trip hotel transfer, changing cabins and showers are included on all three, and you pay on the day of the tour.

Your pickup is earlier than the time you book

08:00, 11:00 and 13:00 are the times the activity is scheduled to start at the base. None of them is the moment the transfer reaches your hotel; that is earlier, and how much earlier depends on your hotel, on which of the nine pickup areas around Side it sits in, and on the order the driver runs the route that day. We confirm your own time with your booking.

Part of this choice is how early you want to be in the lobby: one hotel is an early stop on the run, another the last before the base.

08:00: cooler ground, softer light, the day still yours

The morning departure hands the rest of your day back: cooler ground, the softer light of the early hours, and an afternoon still unspent when you get back. The cost is the start: because the pickup falls earlier again, this is the departure most likely to sit across your hotel's breakfast service, so check its hours first. With a child aged 6–10 riding as a passenger, plan the alarm rather than the driving.

11:00: breakfast first, the evening intact

The late-morning departure is the compromise that costs least: breakfast unhurried, nobody dressed before they are awake, the pickup still in the morning. Eat properly, because the next thing available is whatever you buy at the base, where food and drinks are sold and not part of the fare. You drive through the middle of the day, the half with the sun at its highest — and we publish no temperatures, because we have none we can stand behind.

13:00: no alarm, low light at the end

The afternoon departure leaves the morning free and asks nothing of an alarm. It is the warm half of the day, and by the last stretch the sun stands lower: that flatter light is the one difference between the three you can see in a photograph. The trade is the far end of your day — no departure has a fixed return time, and the shower and change at the base come after the driving, not instead of it.

What the hour does not decide

The hour decides the light, the warmth of the air and the shape of your day. It does not decide the ground: dust or mud follows the days before yours, the weather and the season, and no two days are identical. Nor does it change who may take part: age rules, the ID check at registration, the briefings and the practice drive are the same on all three.

  • Cooler ground, softer light, the day still ahead: 08:00.
  • An unhurried hotel breakfast first: 11:00.
  • No alarm and a free morning: 13:00.
  • Same course, briefings, practice drive, 18 km route, fare, helmet, transfer and showers: all three.

Days when the departure chooses itself

An arrival or flight day usually decides for you: approximately 4–4.5 hours door to door from a pickup earlier than your departure, and no fixed return time at the end. If a checkout or a flight sits in the same day, message us on WhatsApp before you book.

A busy date can decide too: places are counted across every booking for that date, so one departure can fill while another still has room; the form shows only the departures running on your date. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before your departure.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which departure do you recommend?

The one that fits your day — the safari is identical on all three. 08:00 for cooler ground and a free afternoon, 11:00 for breakfast first, 13:00 if you would rather not set an alarm.

Is the afternoon departure shorter than the morning one?

No. Every departure is approximately 4–4.5 hours door to door around the same 18 km off-road route. How long the driving takes moves with the group and the day's conditions, never with the hour you booked.

Will I miss my hotel breakfast if I book the 08:00 departure?

You might: your pickup is earlier than the departure and depends on where your hotel sits on the day's route. If its hours do not fit, the 11:00 departure changes nothing about the safari.

Which departure works best with a child aged 6–10?

Your call: the earlier ones finish before the warmest hours, the later one needs no early alarm. On all three the child rides as a passenger beside an adult on the Quad Safari (€15) or the Family Buggy Safari (€18).

Can I book a safari on my arrival or flight day?

The calendar will let you, but plan that day with us on WhatsApp first. There is no fixed return time, your pickup is earlier than your departure, and a checkout or airport transfer the same day leaves less room than people expect.
