What one departure holds
A departure has 40 places, and none of them is held for your group: what other travellers have booked for that date comes off the same 40. You learn where the group stands at the moment you confirm: the form comes back with how many places are left, or that the departure is full for your date, and books nothing.
In season three departures run — 08:00, 11:00 and 13:00 — and the group has to settle on one of them before anyone books. Those are the times the safari starts at the base, not pickup times: the transfer comes earlier, depends on the hotel and the day's route, and is confirmed with each booking.
One booking for everyone, or one per family
One booking means one reference, one total paid on the day of the tour, one free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Several bookings suit families who want their own total or are in different hotels. Either way one thing keeps you together: the same date and departure on every booking.
Make them in one sitting: each is measured against the places still open when it is confirmed. One booking takes up to 20 adults and up to 20 children, which together must still fit the departure. The form counts people per fare tier — adults from 11, children 6 to 10; the ages themselves are confirmed at the base on the day.
Worth filling in:
- Other travellers — names, one per line
- Notes: who wants to drive, who rides along
- Pickup area and hotel, per booking
- A phone number we can reach on WhatsApp
The fare is per person, whatever the party size
Twenty people pay twenty times what one pays: €30 an adult on the Buggy Safari, €25 an adult and €15 a child aged 6–10 on the Quad Safari, €30 and €18 on the Family Buggy Safari. Party size moves none of them: there is no group rate, and this site sells no departure, guide or course to one party alone.
Each of those fares buys the same day: round-trip hotel transfer, the vehicle, the helmet, the information, safety and vehicle briefings, the practice drive, guiding on the route, changing cabins and showers. Insurance is included where applicable under the operating policy. Goggles, bandana, food, drinks and photos are paid at the base.
Mixed groups: some drive, some ride along
Driving starts at 16, with ID at the base as proof of age. Everyone aged 11 and over pays the adult fare, steering or not; 11- to 15-year-olds ride as passengers. A child of 6 to 10 rides as a passenger at the child fare on the Quad Safari and the Family Buggy Safari only — the Buggy Safari sells adult places, and the family safari needs at least one child of 6 to 10. Nobody under 6 can take part.
No driving licence is required, because the safari runs on a private off-road course inland from the Side coast, not on public roads. Required instead, of every driver: the age check with ID, the three briefings, the practice drive and the guide's assessment, which decides who drives. Anyone not cleared rides the same route as a passenger at the adult fare.
Keeping a group together on the course
A departure drives as one convoy behind the guide: the group is not split up, and nobody picks their own line or rides off ahead. The safety briefing covers following the guide, safe distance, overtaking and stopping rules and group organisation; the pace belongs to the group, not its quickest driver.
The 18 km route sits inside approximately 4–4.5 hours door to door, and you are together for all of it. We publish no number of places per buggy or quad — none is verified — so tell us who is coming and we confirm the arrangement. A party that wants both vehicles books the same start time on the Quad Safari and on a buggy safari; the form keeps your time when you switch.
When your group is bigger than the form takes
Nothing is quietly trimmed: the counters stop at 20 each, and a party too big for the departure is told so and pointed at WhatsApp. Send the date, the safari, the headcount split into adults (11 and over) and children (6 to 10), and your hotels.
What comes back is usable: this departure fits you, that one is half taken, another date is easier, or it must be two departures the same day. Someone staying outside the nine pickup areas? Ask on WhatsApp before the group books: we would rather tell you in advance if we cannot reach a hotel than leave it to the morning. The form also carries 'Somewhere else — we will check'.
